Packaging and Brand Design

About me

I am a designer and former weird art kid with experience in branding, packaging, display and fashion styling, and visual merchandising. Communication is very important to me, both on an interpersonal level and on a grander scale; visual storytelling through collaboration and creativity. I take in the things around me and store for future use. Sometimes that means infusing a broader cultural view into my design, and sometimes it means crushing at bar trivia.

Early in my career I gained valuable retail experience with Barnes & Noble and Jonathan Adler, where I developed a deeper understanding of brand, consumer habits, managing a team, and ensuring a cohesive customer experience. Meanwhile I enhanced my love of conceptual fashion, oddities, creepy things, gothic thrillers, and camp.

My degree in Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design from FIT taught me fluency in visual storytelling, conceptual thinking, teamwork, time management, and the ability to realize a Creative Director’s vision. I also learned how to work with others in small enclosed spaces, and how to communicate clearly through a pane of glass at 3 AM!

Packaging Design opened my eyes the the impact design can have on our culture and the planet, stoking my passion for sustainability and lowering the impact my work has on the environment.

My name is Meredith Christensen-Jennings, character limits be damned.
